Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh attends a memorial service marking the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham pub bombings on 21 November 2024 in Birmingham, England. On the night of November 21, 1974, two bombs were detonated at the Mulberry Bush and the Tavern in the Town pubs in Birmingham, killing twenty-one people and injuring 220. The Irish Republican Army (IRA) has never officially admitted responsibility, but is widely believed to have carried out the attacks.
