King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attend a a commemorative event marking the 20th European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism at the Royal Collections Gallery on 11 March 2024 in Madrid, Spain. On 11 March 2004, ten bombs exploded nearly simultaneously on four commuter trains during the morning rush hour in Madrid, killing 192 people and injuring almost 2,000. The terrorist attack was claimed by "al-Qaeda in Europe".
