King Harald V, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway attend events commemorating the 200th anniversary of the first organised Norwegian emigration to America, on 4 July 2025 in Stavanger, Norway. On 4 July 1825, the sailing ship Restoration sets sail from Stavanger with 52 passengers on board. They later became known as the first Norwegian immigrants to the United States, and their arrival in New York is considered the start of the Norwegian emigration to North America.
